How I met Patricia Heaton
I met Patricia in 2000 on Maui at a luau. People were whispering about a celebrity in our midst, but I didn’t recognize the name so I didn’t care much. Well, I was waiting in line at the open bar (16 at the time) to get a virgin volcano and Patricia was next to me in line. I just started randomly talking to her (as I do with anyone) about how her vacation was going, where she was staying, ect. Really casual things. She got to the front of the line first, ordered 2 volcanos and gave one to me. I thanked her and walked back to her table with her where she introduced me to her 4 boys, hisband and nanny. I was seated at the table below her and when I got back to the table everyone as like, “OMG do you know who that is?!” I was like, “yeah, Patricia.” My grandma explained to me who she was and I was like, “oh … well, she’s nice but I don’t watch Everybody Loves Raymond.” I took a sip of my volcano only to find out it was NOT a virgin! Fun times!
No autographs or photos w/ her (she’s in the background of a few of ours) but I did pick up her place holder card at her table when she left early.
